Shannon and Jon’s WeddingWire Review:
DJ Dayve was FANTASTIC! From start to finish he gave us nothing but great communication and professional service. The music portion of our wedding was one of the most important elements to us. DJ Dayve really took the time to understand our individual personalities, our relationship as a couple and the dynamics of our guests which resulted in Dayve producing the perfect combination of music that was enjoyed by everyone! I had quite a few extra requests for music equipment and specifics for lighting and every request was not only met with an “absolutely” but he also did everything he could to help keep the cost very reasonable. The ABSOLUTE BEST part of working with DJ Dayve was the reception. He was incredible. He was so in tune with each of our guests that he had them all up on the dance floor showing their moves with the biggest smiles on their faces. The best part was to turn around and see Dayve, and his assistant, dancing too! They seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves right along with us. It made it feel like we had hired a long time friend. At our breakfast the following morning, I was told over and over by our family and friends how impressed they were with the music and DJ Dayve. It brought us complete joy to see each of our guests having so much fun and to hear how much they enjoyed our entire wedding. DJ Dayve was a big part of that success. We would hire him again in a heartbeat if we are ever planning a party again in Florida!

Any chance I can get to work alongside Along Came Stephanie I’ll take so I was excited to see David’s inquiry come in with Stephanie listed as the referral source. After speaking with David and finding out he and Lauren are based in Chicago (where I grew up), it was a done deal (from my side, at least)! Lauren and David went for playlists that merged the old with the new. Guests entered to the likes of the Temptations, OneRepublic, Bruno Mars, and American Authors. Their intro songs set the high-energy vibe for the rest of the night with Calvin Harris’s Feel So Close followed by Singala’s Sweet Lovin’ before heading into one of Adele’s newest, Sweetest Devotion for their first dance together. Dinner was accompanied by the timeless Sinatra’s and Buble’s mixed with some of Adele’s best alongside Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Etta James. David brought in a personal choice with Kygo’s remix of Sexual Healing for the garter takeoff before the two of them and their guests danced the night away–closing off the night with the classic Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’.

The Details:
Samantha and Kylee were one of the happiest couples I’ve ever worked with. From beginning to end, these two ladies were low-key and calm yet fully on-point with how they wanted their wedding music to sound. During our conversations over music, Samantha and Kylee expressed particular love for music by Justin Timberlake and Beyonce. When it came time to decide on specific music for their first dance, they went with John Mayer’s cover of Beyonce’s “XO” and ended with the actual version of Beyonce’s “XO”. In an earlier post, you’ll see that John Mayer’s cover of Beyonce’s “XO” made it onto my top five non-traditional first dance songs–it was because of what it brought out for Samantha and Kylee. The cover was an intense addition to an already deep love that these two ladies showed for each other as everyone watched them dance for the first time together that evening. As we made it into the dancing part of the night, their guests’ mutual love for Beyonce led me into a superset of her most recent hits including: Formation, Partition, 7/11, Drunk In Love, Feeling Myself, Diva, and Flawless. Though atypical for a wedding, we all rocked out–leaving it all on the dance floor. Samantha and Kylee’s wedding will go down as one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve worked with two of the most beautiful individuals not only because of the usual pomp and circumstance that comes with weddings but far more importantly because of the intensity of the emotions that everyone felt that evening as Samantha and Kylee sealed the deal. Rock on, ladies!

Samantha and Kylee’s WeddingWire Review:
“DJ Dayve was amazing from start to finish! From our very first meeting he was incredibly professional and organized. His online questionnaires and phone meetings kept the planning on track. He also worked closely with our wedding coordinator to create a timeline. During the wedding, he was nothing short of perfection! He kept us moving through the first dances, dinner and the cake cutting. Once the dancing started he made sure the party never slowed down! He had everyone dancing the whole night! We could not have asked for more in a DJ than Dave!!!”
